Updates:
04/19/02- Did some minor cosmetic changes, all the pages are at the same addresses, but re-titled some of them :). Added some links at the bottoms of some of the pages, and made a pretty graphic for the opening page.
02/03/02 - In case you can't tell I'm not updating this page anymore, its pretty much out of date. However, since it is (I believe) the only O'Jeez page out there, I've left it up. Today I'm fixing a few typos and updating the links page, since all my links are very dead. I might finally get around to scanning in a few things. Maybe not. I still have a bootleg I might turn into mp3s and post. Have to filter out the static first. No promises though. Decided to add a some sample lyrics off the top of my head. shrug. might be wrong. playing with colors too. Ok why can't I ever do anything half-assed? Updating the bios (went out on the web to find out what the kids have been up to). Ok this counts as an official update I guess.
09/27/98 - You probably know all this, but: Soul Asylum opened for Matchbox 20 and played after that other Minneapolis band Semisonic. The Geraldine Fibbers parted ways with their record company, Virgin. Jessy was in the studio with the Afgan Whiggs in New Orleans.
04/18/98 - Everything has just been updated a bit with the newest info I have.
02/19/98 - Changed the Biography again. Added an article. Added a Geraldine Fibbers link on the link page. Messed around with some colors. Oh Yeah. Soul Asylums Album is..."Candy From a Stranger" as originally reported, but the date has been pushed into May.
02/13/98 - Friday the 13th!!! Thanks to some emailed imput i finally got my email adress correct. so email me now, especially if you thought you emailed me and i didn't answer, i always answer eventually. Added to the Biography (check it out) and found a new article. Check out the new link on the link page. (Soul Asylum Tape Tree) if your an O'Jeez Fan. The name of Soul Asylum's new album is now reportably "Creatures of Habit" and should be out March 31st. The Golden Smog are also planning to release a new album on Rykodisk this year.
01/30/98 - Having trouble finding stuff to add, fixed some minor stuff that was bothering me.
01/20/98 - Added two new articles, one from Rolling Stone and one from No Depression. If you've seen a concert, then you've heard the "free jazz" stuff these articles keep refering too. It is actually a separate song called "Walk at the Lake". After the concert I saw I spoke with Jessy Greene, and she talked about it. It seems that the song began as improvivational experimentation in the studio, and took on a life of its own. Jessy suggested that the group take a break by taking a walk around the lake, the rest of the band jumped on the idea as the name for the song.
01/17/98 - Sorry I haven't updated the page in a while, i was pretty sick. Fear not, O'jeez has not been idle. Put an article up about where the band was on Christmas, (see more below). Soul Asylum has an album due out in March called "Candy From a Stranger" (i think.. i need to double check that). Check out this (courtesy of Paul, thanks for sending me a copy, Rob):
I heard about the show from a friend at First Ave who said Dave might be the warm-up for Run Westy Run. When I saw that it was listed on the calendar as the D D & K surprise I figured that stood for Dave, Dan & Karl. On the set times list at the door it listed them as Dope Dust and Krystal but it was definately Soul Asylum (without a drummer). It was a fairly short acoustic set that was somewhat similar to Dave's solo show at the 400. Pretty Boy Floyd, Stranger, Never Really Been, Closer to the Stars, String of Pearls and more. Jessy Greene played violin on a few and for an encore Kraig and Kirk Johnson came out and sang back up on Oh La La. Theres more I'm forgetting at the moment, if you have any questions let me know. - Paul |
Fixed my email, sorry if anyone tried to write I had it backwards.. and I'm spending some time fooling around with the colors, let me know what ya think.thats all for now.
